Make plans to celebrate a spooktacular Halloween at The Village Green in Cashiers. Goblins in the Green will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, October 28.
Dress up in your favorite silly or scary costume and come to The Village Green Commons on Frank Allen Road to enjoy a haunting adventure with tricks and treats. Some ghoulish guests will join the resident spiders and bats in The Village Green for an evening that features loads of activities for kids and their families.
“This is going to be a ghoulish good time for the whole family,” said Ann Self, Executive Director of The Village Green, “Bring your pumpkin bucket and a camera.”
Among the activities will be a costume contest at 7:00 P.M. Prizes will be awarded to the best boy and girl costume as well as the best owner-and-pet coordinating costume. Goblins in the Green is organized and presented by The Village Green and the Jackson County Parks and Recreation Department. Many area merchants are also supporting this event. Goblins in the Green is a free, community-wide event for residents and visitors to the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau.
The Village Green is a 12.5-acre park extending from the crossroads of Highway 64 and Highway 107 to Frank Allen Road in Cashiers. The Village Green hosts thousands of visitors and more than 80 events each year.
“What many people don’t realize is that this park is free for the public to enjoy, but depends solely on the financial support of generous donors,” says Self. “Every contribution is valuable toward not only maintaining the park but making events like Goblins in the Green possible for residents and guests in the area to experience.”
