Bel Canto Hits 25

The Bel Canto Recital in Highlands will celebrate its silver anniversary on September 10 with a breathtaking performance at the Highlands Performing Arts Center.

Returning to perform – by popular demand – are four world-renowned singers:  Soprano Sarah Jane McMahon, Mezzo-Soprano Sarah Nordin, Tenor Jon Jurgens and Baritone Christopher Clayton.  And, for the first time in Bel Canto history, a fifth singer, Bass Tyler Putnam, will be joining the recital.

Accompanying the singers for his 25th Highlands Bel Canto Recital is masterful pianist Stephen Dubberly.  Directed by beloved Artistic Director Stella Zambalis, also celebrating her many years with the recital, the concert will offer exceptional music from not only opera, but Broadway favorites as well.

After the concert, an extraordinary dinner will be served at the Highlands Country Club where everyone can mingle and talk to the performers.

For the past 24 years Bel Canto has contributed over $500,000 to support all the music education programs in Highlands, thanks to the generosity of its many benefactors.  Beneficiaries include the Highlands School, the Highlands Community Child Development Center and the Gordon Center – in addition to The Bascom Permanent Collection.

Tickets to this special 25th anniversary performance of the Bel Canto Recital are $200 per person. To reserve yours, please call 828-787-1463 or email highlandsbelcanto@gmail.com, or mail your check to Bel Canto Recital, P. O. Box 2392, Highlands, NC  28741.
