We’re inviting everyone to join us this Holiday Season for a pair of fun festivities loaded with good cheer.
We’re going to be hosting a Gingerbread House Competition, in collaboration with the Cashiers Area Chamber of Commerce!
On December 4, bring your creativity, holiday spirit, and architectural flair to CHS as we celebrate the season with sweet designs and festive fun. Individuals, families, businesses, and community groups are all invited to participate.
Winners will be announced during the Gingerbread Man’s Mountain March Christmas Parade, and all entries will be on display throughout Holidays at the Historical Society. All winners will receive a prize.
But that’s not the end of CHS’s Ho, a Ho, Ho!
Back by popular demand, Holidays at the Historical Society returns to the Cashiers Historical Society for two enchanting nights, December 5–6.
Step back in time and experience the holiday traditions unique to Southern Appalachia. This magical evening captures the warmth and wonder of the season with a candlelight tour of the historic Zachary-Tolbert House.
Guided by the CHS staff, guests will learn about past holiday traditions and how they have evolved over time while admiring the home’s beautiful holiday decorations. Victorian carolers and festive music will fill the air, adding to the charm of this memorable evening.
In addition, the Zachary Family Cabin will be beautifully decorated for the season, offering the perfect setting for families to create classic Christmas crafts together. Seasonal treats will be served, and guests of all ages can gather around a cozy fire to make s’mores and raise a cup of holiday cheer!
Tickets are $40 per adult and $10 per child and can be purchased at CashiersHistory.org.
