Season of Gratitude at Summit

As the year winds down, Summit Charter School celebrates community and the promise of what’s ahead.

Although we are only approaching the halfway point of the 2025–26 school year, December offers a natural pause as a chance to reflect on the calendar year and renew our sense of purpose for the new year.

This season invites gratitude for milestones reached, lessons learned, and, most importantly, the people who make our school such a special place.

As a tuition-free public charter school, Summit’s mission is to engage students in learning experiences that stimulate discovery, inspire excellence, and nurture a positive influence in an ever-changing world.

Summit thrives because of the generosity and engagement of our extended community — families, volunteers, local businesses, and donors who share in our mission and daily operations — all to ensure that our students grow into individuals who are academically prepared, strong in character, and engaged in community.

In November, we celebrated one of Summit’s most cherished traditions — the Cashiers Festival of Trees, our signature annual fundraiser and a joyful kickoff to the holiday season. In its fifth year, the event once again reflected the creativity and heart of our broader Plateau community with beautifully designed trees and auction items, festive gatherings, and a spirit of giving that lingers long after the seasonal decor comes down.

As we look ahead, there is much to be excited about. Construction continues on our Middle School Multipurpose Building, which will soon serve as a hub for gathering, learning, and athletics. Fundraising also continues for our Athletic Field revitalization, a two-phase project that will afford our student-athletes safe, high-quality spaces to practice and compete.

Finally, we are taking meaningful steps toward growing our first-ever Endowment, an investment in the school’s long-term strength and sustainability, with a goal of completing our Phase I fundraising by the end of 2027.

During this season of reflection, we extend heartfelt thanks to all who make Summit’s mission possible. Your belief in our students and their values fuels everything we do.

From all of us at Summit Charter School, we wish you a joyful holiday season filled with peace, purpose, and community.
