Nestled in the mountains, the Cashiers community is defined by its warmth and generosity.
For 18 years, Cashiers Cares has been a beacon of hope, quietly working to uplift families and individuals facing hardship.
This year, thanks to the remarkable support of friends and neighbors, the organization’s distributed over $100,000 to help those most in need. Since its founding, Cashiers Cares has raised more than $900,000, each dollar making a real difference for families in Southern Jackson County.
But the need continues. Nearly one in five of our neighbors lives in poverty – much higher than the national average. Behind these numbers are real stories: a child learning to read for the first time, a family receiving a box of food, a survivor finding safety, an elder receiving compassionate care.
Cashiers Cares partners with ten local nonprofits, each one providing essential resources. From the AWAKE Children’s Advocacy Center, which supported over 1,800 victims of child abuse last year, to Fishes and Loaves Food Pantry, which provided food to more than 9,000 individuals, your generosity reaches far and wide.
Every contribution – no matter the size – helps transform lives. Whether it’s a check, a gift of stock, a memorial, or a distribution from an IRA, every act of giving is tax-deductible and goes directly to those in need, thanks to the dedication of Cashiers Cares’ all-volunteer team.
