Description

The lecturer for this course, Dr. Mark Bauerlein, wrote a book almost ten years ago by this title: The Dumbest Generation: How the Digital Age Stupefies Young Americans and Jeopardizes Our Future. It was both savaged and hailed. When asked more recently if he had changed his views over time, he responded that he definitely had not. If you have ever wondered what makes the millennial generation tick, this course is for you. Dr. Bauerlein will answer every question you ever wanted to ask about this generation. Come and find out if you want to boo, mock or applaud him. Presenter: Dr. Mark Bauerlein earned his Ph.D. in English at UCLA and has been on the faculty at Emory University since 1989. He is currently Senior Editor of First Things magazine.  He has written and edited several books, including, Literary Criticism: An Autopsy (1997), Negrophobia: A Race Riot in Atlanta, 1906 (2001), and The Dumbest Generation: How the Digital Age Stupefies Young Americans and Jeopardizes Our Future (2008).
