Off the beaten path at 2820 Dillard Road, Peak Experience is one of those places that feels like a hidden gem the moment you walk in.

It’s absolutely worth the little detour, and once you’ve been, don’t be surprised if it becomes a regular stop. With three floors packed full of unique finds, many made right here in the U.S., and plenty by local and regional artisans, this is definitely not a quick in-and-out kind of shop. Plan to linger a while… you’ll want to.

Jewelry lovers are in for a treat. From high-end estate pieces featuring precious and semi-precious gems set in beautiful metals, to handcrafted designs by featured artist Suzy Landa, there’s something for every style. Her colorful, eye-catching pieces crafted in 18K gold with precious and semi-precious stones are favorites for a reason. And keep an eye out for her trunk show coming up in August. Trust us, you won’t want to miss it.

There’s also a great selection of more casual, everyday jewelry, much of it handmade in the USA. They’ve even got a thoughtful selection of clip earrings for those without pierced ears.

One of the real standouts here is the pottery. Peak Experience boasts the largest selection of handmade pottery in the area, with pieces from talented artists near and far. The handwarmer mugs are especially popular, and once you hold one, you’ll understand why. They’re cozy, colorful, and make your morning coffee feel just a little more special.

Be sure to check out the Nora Fleming serving pieces, too. These are as fun as they are functional, with interchangeable ceramic “mini” decorations you can swap out for holidays, seasons, sports teams, you name it. It’s an easy way to add a personality to your table, and they’re sure to be conversation starters.

And that’s just the beginning. You’ll also find North Carolina-made soaps, candles, purses, scarves, shawls, handmade tatted lace note cards, plus a great assortment of kids’ toys, games, puzzles, and stuffed animals. Add artwork, estate antiques, glassware, rugs, and vibrant pillow covers, and you’ve got a shop that truly has a little something for everyone.

Owners Matthew and Victoria Ingate have a real knack for curating a collection that feels both special and approachable, and they’re always happy to help you find just the right piece or tell you a little about the artisan who made it.
