Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina is dusting off the boots and setting the tables once again for an evening that’s equal parts celebration and purpose. The third annual Boots & Bourbon fundraiser returns Thursday, August 6, from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M. at 240 Chimney Pond Road in Glenville, inviting neighbors, partners, and friends to gather in support of youth mentoring across our region.
Boots & Bourbon has quickly become a can’t-miss summer tradition. It’s an evening that feels like a night out with friends, while powering life-changing one-to-one matches for young people in Macon and Jackson counties.
Big Brothers Big Sisters recently marked 23 years of mentoring in these communities, and that milestone is reflected in every handshake, every toast, and every story shared during this event.
From the moment guests arrive, the tone is set by live music and the energy of a community that believes in the promise of its youth. This year’s event will again feature performances from talented local youth musicians – an inspiring reminder of what can grow when young people are encouraged, supported, and seen.
Guests can expect a flavorful lineup designed for lingering and connecting: local beers, specialty bourbon tastings, and handcrafted cocktails created exclusively for the evening. A Southern-inspired dinner will follow – perfectly paired with the night’s sips and sounds – before the excitement of live and silent auctions begins.
As in years past, proceeds from Boots & Bourbon provide critical funding for mentoring programs that help Littles build academic confidence, emotional resilience, and long-term goal setting. The evening also honors the schools, families, volunteers, and community organizations whose enduring partnerships make these matches possible.
“We are deeply grateful to our community for showing up with such enthusiasm,” said Local Program Director Danielle Hernandez. “Your support ensures that Bigs and Littles continue to build lasting relationships that change lives – for both mentees and mentors.”
