This year marks the 48th Cashiers Annual Antique Show, a long-loved tradition known for fine antiques, knowledgeable exhibitors, and an eager, well-informed crowd.

And yes, it all happens in what I consider one of the most beautiful mountain settings on earth – I’ll admit I’m slightly prejudiced. Join us at The Village Green at Cashiers on Frank Allen Road, from 9:00 A.M. Friday, August 7, to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, August 9.

Exhibitors come from across the Northeast, Midwest, Southwest, and Southeast, and even from the United Kingdom, making this a lively and wide-ranging show.

You’ll find treasures from the 18th century through the mid-20th century, including furniture, porcelain, fine crystal and pattern glass, Oriental carpets and textiles, paintings, engravings, etchings, maps, needlework, and exceptional Americana.

There is also silver, brass, copper, bronzes, mirrors, sconces, toys, sporting items, Black Forest carvings, decorative frames, barometers, garden ornaments, wrought iron, books, pottery, and fine European and Asian porcelain. And I must mention the jewelry – it’s truly a remarkable collection.

Advance tickets are available at CashiersAnnualAntiqueShow.com by clicking the blue bar for early buying or regular admission. Whether you purchase online or at the door, please enter through the Lewis Hall front entrance. We accept cash and credit or debit cards.

Each paid visitor receives a blue wristband, which allows return admission on any day of the show at no extra charge. Reminder cards are available at the Chamber of Commerce and at many businesses in Cashiers, Highlands, and surrounding towns, and can also be downloaded from our website, Facebook, or Instagram – just be sure the card says “48th Annual,” as a few of last year’s versions may still be circulating.

Pictured with this article is our beautiful door prize quilt, hand-quilted and hand-appliquéd. Each paid attendee receives an entry card, and the drawing will be held at the close of the show at 4:00 P.M. Sunday.

We’re also delighted to have Rachel Lewicki’s The Secret Garden at the show, serving Southern summer fare with comfortable seating in the shade or the sun.

Children are welcome, and so are dogs, provided their people are responsible for them, along with the exceptionally well-trained bird – sorry, no felines. Accredited service animals are, of course, welcome.
