Highlands’ annual Community Shredding Event, sponsored by the Highlands Chamber of Commerce/Visit Highlands NC, is exactly that kind of morning – a simple gathering with an outsized impact.
On Friday, August 21, from 9:00 A.M. to noon, Highlands Plaza (right near Bryson’s Food Store) will turn into a bustling hub of good intentions as residents bring boxes, bags, and armfuls of sensitive documents to be safely shredded onsite.
It’s free, it’s easy, and it’s one of the most satisfying ways imaginable to clear out old paperwork while keeping your personal information secure.
But the event is more than a tidy‑up for your filing cabinet. It’s also a small but meaningful gift to the Plateau’s environment.
