With its signature golf tournament, Cashiers Cares continues a mission rooted in compassion and community support. For nearly 20 years, this grassroots organization has transformed generosity into action, supporting trusted nonprofits that serve children, families, seniors, and neighbors facing hardship throughout Jackson County and the surrounding area.

On Monday, September 14, Cashiers Cares invites golfers and supporters to tee up for good at its Charity Golf Event at Trillium Links. Check‑in begins at 9:30 A.M., followed by a shotgun start at 10:30 A.M. The day promises mountain views, friendly competition, and the satisfying knowledge that every swing helps strengthen the safety net for local residents in need.

Proceeds from the event support a broad network of nonprofits, among them AWAKE Children’s Advocacy Center, the Literacy Council of Cashiers, Cashiers Valley Preschool, Hampton Preschool & Early Learning Center, Community Care Clinic of Highlands‑Cashiers, Fishes and Loaves Food Pantry, Four Seasons Hospice, Pisgah Legal Services, SAFE, and United Christian Ministries of Jackson County.

Together, these organizations touch nearly every part of community life. AWAKE advocates for children affected by abuse and helps coordinate care in a child‑friendly setting. The Literacy Council helps adults and children overcome barriers created by illiteracy, while Cashiers Valley Preschool and Hampton Preschool provide young learners with nurturing foundations for kindergarten and beyond.

Other beneficiaries meet urgent daily needs. Community Care Clinic provides free primary medical care for those who might otherwise go without. Fishes and Loaves and United Christian Ministries help stock pantries and tables for families experiencing food insecurity. Four Seasons offers hospice and palliative care regardless of ability to pay. Pisgah Legal Services pursues justice for low‑income neighbors, and SAFE works to eliminate domestic and sexual violence through prevention, advocacy, protection, education, and healing.

What sets Cashiers Cares apart is its direct impact: donations are routed to the agencies doing the work on the ground, where resources can quickly become groceries, medical visits, legal help, classroom support, safety, and comfort for those who need them most.
