Fall Volunteers Needed

The Literacy & Learning Center is seeking volunteers for its After‑School program this autumn, offering flexible scheduling and meaningful opportunities to support local students as the new school year settles in across the Plateau.

Now that September has arrived and a brand‑new school year is officially underway, routines are settling into place across the Highlands plateau. As local students head back to the classroom, The Literacy & Learning Center is actively seeking dedicated, compassionate volunteers to support its vital After‑School program for the upcoming autumn term.

Volunteering with our after‑school students is a powerful way to make a lasting, direct impact right here in our community. Every afternoon, our center brims with energy as students work to build foundational academic and life skills. Whether you are helping a young child master weekly sight words, guiding a middle schooler through a tricky homework assignment, or sharing in the joy of a student discovering a new favorite book, your time and mentorship can truly change the trajectory of a young learner’s life.

Why volunteer with TL&LC this fall?

No Experience Required: You don’t need a background in education to make a difference. The only qualification is to care about children and want to help them succeed.

Flexible Scheduling: We value your time and can easily accommodate your availability to find a weekly or biweekly routine that fits your schedule.

Rewarding Connections: You will have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with local youth and watch their academic confidence grow week by week.

Support Our Mission: Your presence helps us maintain the high‑quality, structured environment necessary to keep our essential educational and literacy programs completely free of charge for all local families.

If you have a genuine passion for learning and just a few hours a week to spare, we would love to welcome you to our team!
