It’s August, and many of us are enjoying one last vacation or thinking about back‑to‑school so it’s a great time to put our cares on the back burner for a bit and enjoy one of the Plateau’s most beloved festivals.
That would be the Sapphire Valley Arts and Crafts Festival, which returns for two more weekends this year after a successful June show: on August 1-2, and October 3-4.
Festival hours run from 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. each day. Rain or shine, the festival goes on. The August shows are held outside on the athletic field, and the October show is in the SV Community Center.
There’s something for everyone here, and it’s especially fun for families with room to roam. Stretch those legs, frolic in the sun, enjoy food and drink, and find a handmade treasure. We feel a bit like the carnival barkers of yore – come one, come all, and enjoy this festive event.
