The Highlands Performing Arts Center has become a destination for exceptional live entertainment on the Plateau, welcoming acclaimed performers from across the country while creating memorable evenings for residents and visitors alike.
This year, the PAC continues that tradition with a concert series that celebrates legendary music, outstanding musicianship, and the joy of shared experience.
The series continues with Memories of Motown on September 11, a high-energy celebration of the artists and songs that defined an era. Featuring the music of The Temptations, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and more, the performance captures the spirit and soul of Motown’s greatest hits.
Next on September 26, Nu-Blu, a bluegrass and Americana band from Siler City, brings a blend of traditional roots and contemporary storytelling. For more than two decades, the group has built a loyal following with thoughtful songwriting and a modern take on Appalachian-influenced sound. Their work includes five Top Ten Billboard albums and collaborations with artists such as Rock and Roll Hall of Fame vocalist Sam Moore on Jesus and Jones, an acclaimed tribute to George Jones.
Broadway fans won’t want to miss The Barricade Boys on October 9, an internationally renowned vocal quartet known for powerhouse harmonies, charismatic performances, and a signature blend of musical theater, pop, rock, and swing. Featuring veterans of London’s West End and the international touring production of Les Misérables, the group delivers soaring vocals, humor, and audience interaction that has earned standing ovations around the world.
On October 17, Classic rock takes center stage with Chi-Town Transit Authority, a premier tribute band honoring the music of Chicago. Complete with dynamic horn and woodwind sections plus exceptional vocals, the group faithfully recreates favorites including Saturday in the Park, 25 or 6 to 4, and You’re the Inspiration.
“Our goal is to present artists and performances that appeal to a wide range of audiences while continuing to elevate the cultural experience available here on the Plateau,” says Jeanne Piazza, Executive Director of the Highlands Performing Arts Center. “Each concert offers something unique, and we love seeing friends, neighbors, and visitors come together to enjoy music in our theater.”
