Not that the Art League has been hibernating over the winter, but it is now time for it to become fully active.

During the off-season, we have laid the groundwork for some exciting changes. More on those changes will soon be forthcoming, but first things first.

On the 27th, the League will hold its first meeting of the 2026 season. As usual, the location is the Bascom terrace where social time will begin at 4:30 P.M. with the meeting following at 5:00 P.M..

We are pleased to have as our guest speaker, Billy Love, Executive Director of the Bascom: Center for the Visual Arts.

Billy has more than 20 years of experience as an educator and non-profit leader. His expertise includes organizational leadership, program development, fundraising and strategic partnerships. He holds a Bachelor’s from Furman University (Greenville, South Carolina) and a Master’s in Art Education from Western Carolina University.

In 2023, the League’s Board recognized Billy’s considerable support of the Art League by naming him an Honorary Lifetime Member. The Art League is one of the many community organizations the Bascom partners with to advance art on the Plateau.

It is always a treat to learn of the Bascom’s long-term plans as well as those for the current year. This event is free and open to the public. We hope you will be able to join us for what promises to be an interesting and informative presentation.
