With all the Good Things headed our way, the Cashiers Area Chamber of Commerce is making it even easier to be a Friend of the Chamber and of the Community.
As the Cashiers Valley emerges from winter with renewed vigor and longer days, the Cashiers Area Chamber of Commerce is stepping confidently into spring with fresh energy, new initiatives for Cashiers, Glenville, Sapphire, and Lake Toxaway.
For more than 40 years, the Cashiers Area Chamber of Commerce has served as the region’s unofficial welcome committee, concierge desk, advocate, and enthusiastic cheerleader – sometimes all before lunchtime.
Representing Cashiers, Glenville, Sapphire, and Lake Toxaway, the Chamber supports nearly 400 member businesses while working behind the scenes to strengthen the local economy, foster collaboration, and protect the distinctive character of this mountain community.
Think of it as an interconnected network – part Greenway Ramble, part town square – only with fewer squirrels and more strategic planning.
A visit to the Visitor Center on US 64 offers more than brochures and maps.
It’s a first impression – friendly, informed, and welcoming. Whether someone is searching for a waterfall hike, a memorable meal, a local shop, or reliable WiFi, Chamber staff are there to point them in the right direction with genuine warmth and local insight.
But the Chamber’s impact extends far beyond hospitality.
Programs like Leadership Cashiers – now with more than 100 graduates – continue to cultivate informed, engaged community leaders. Participants explore civic issues, education, economic development, and healthcare, often leaving with a deeper sense of stewardship for our community.
The Chamber also helps spotlight the lifestyle that draws people here in the first place: pristine lakes, dramatic waterfalls, boutique shopping, farm-to-table dining, and year-round events that bring neighbors together. From summer fireworks to winter outhouse races (yes, really), the Chamber knows how to celebrate every season and how to promote destination awareness.
At its heart, the Cashiers Chamber is about belonging.
Whether you’re a longtime business owner, a sole proprietor just getting started, a second-home resident, or someone who simply loves this place, there’s a way to be involved. In addition to traditional business memberships, the Chamber offers Friends of the Chamber memberships for individuals who want to support the community’s economic vitality without owning a business.
New this year, the Chamber has also introduced an Affiliate Membership – a $50 option designed for sole proprietors, real estate brokers whose brokerage firms are already Chamber members, and small businesses with one or two employees. Affiliate Members are included in the Chamber’s digital directory, gaining valuable online visibility and SEO benefits for people searching locally – reaching audiences beyond social media scrolling.
Membership in the Chamber isn’t just about a listing – it’s about investing in a shared future, supporting local businesses, and helping ensure that our community remains vibrant, welcoming, and economically strong for generations to come.
