On Saturday, May 7, Highlands First Presbyterian Church’s Chancel Choir will host a Choral Workshop, open to all interested singers in the area.

Participants will perform in a concert for the public at 7:00 P.M. that evening in the church’s sanctuary.  The event will be facilitated by Master British Composer/Conductor Philip W.J. Stopford, a close friend of First Presbyterian Church Chancel Choir member Nan Hunter.  Through her generosity, Nan is making this event possible.

In addition to being a highly acclaimed composer of choral music, Stopford is also an accomplished organist, conductor, and choral trainer.  He has recently accepted a position as Director of Music at Christ Church in Bronxville, New York, and just relocated there from his home in Chester, England.

If you plan to participate in this event or if you would like more details, please call Nan Hunter at (828) 526-1881 or (828) 200-3101.  Rehearsal time will be limited, so to the extent they can, participants should become as familiar as possible with the music before the big day.
