Eclectic Mix of Creativity

Acorns Boutique and Acorns on Church in Highlands present a wonderfully eclectic mix of authors, designers, artists, and exciting events through the month of August.
The Boutique’s designers bring a range of fashion to their trunk shows and August 3–5, Michelle LaLonde Accessories will be on hand to display their stunning selection of handbags. Jude Frances Jewelry will also show their latest line featuring classic elegance and on trend styles.
Planet Clothing will return August 10–12 and will be joined by Simon Pearce.  Inspired by centuries-old Georgian glassmaking techniques and using the finest natural materials, Simon creates designs that bring joy and inspiration with every use, every day.
Elizabeth Locke Jewels and Loraine Croft fashion are both featured in the trunk show August 17–19.  Locke draws on a lifelong fascination with the antique jewelry of the Etruscans, Greeks, and Romans as she creates her own neo-classical handmade 19k gold jewelry.  Loraine Croft will be showing their latest line of sculptural, modern, sophisticated jackets and blouses for women.
The Boutique’s final two trunk shows are August 24–26 with About Color and Tess McGuire.  Judy Levine calls her company About Color because she prides herself on being able to make any design look better through color.  Her work now focuses on woven fabrics like scarves and belts.  Tess McGuire’s handmade felted wool hats have become popular with shoppers at fine boutiques throughout the United States.
Acorns on Church will hold several events throughout the month, as well. On August 3 and 4, you can discover the original hand-crafted art of Southern Botanics, who specialize in collecting, pressing, mounting, and framing flowers, leaves and other plant materials in the style of botanical engravings.
At 2:00 P.M. August 11, acclaimed designer Marshall Watson will introduce his book, “The Art of Elegance.”  He’s known for his European-inspired style and has been featured in the most notable design magazines in the country.  There will be a reception and book signing following his presentation.
Theresa Forman will be at Acorns on Church August 18 with her stunning studio artwork.  She most enjoys painting real-life inspirations that allow her to observe both the colors and subtle nuances in a landscape or still life.
