Where might you find dogs, floats, four-wheelers, and Santa?
Celebrating the 42nd anniversary of the annual holiday fête, the Cashiers Christmas Parade is to be held on Saturday, December 10 at high noon.
Should we hope for snow? By all means!
Sponsored by Hattler Properties, in celebration of the Valley Garden Club’s 30th Anniversary, this year’s parade theme is “Deck the Halls with Boughs of Holly.” So naturally you can expect to see lots of floats, vintage cars, wagons, as well as a few golf carts all decked out in their finest greenery. As always, the Grand Marshal and Spirit of the Community Award Winners are featured throughout the parade and, of course, the big man in red, Santa Claus, will be the caboose. Popular returning entries this year, will be the pets of the Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society, who are available for adoption following the festivities, and the Rosman Tigers Band.
The parade begins at the intersection of Cashiers School Road and NC Highway 107 South, near Cornucopia Restaurant, and then travels north bound through the Crossroads, turning west onto US Hwy 64. It is recommended you arrive early for the best viewing spot. As always, the parade concludes at the Cashiers Community Center with the community group Cashiers Cares.
