Hold onto your Tess McGuire hats, because Acorns Boutique is having seven trunk shows in August.
The first, August 5-7, will be Tess McGuire Hats, of course. McGuire makes all her hats from wool yarn on a loom. These are then felted, shaped, and allowed to dry. Alongside Tess McGuire hats will be Jan Barboglio designs for the home. Jan grew up appreciating the primitive beauty of her life on a cattle ranch. Her pieces are known for the use of old wood, crystal and stone mixed with silver. You’ll see her love of the hacienda lifestyle in her vessels, frames, mirrors and much more.
On August 12-14 Acorns will host two more designers, Lorain Croft Clothing and Elizabeth Locke Jewelry. Clothing from Lorain Croft is designed to fit and flatter a variety of body shapes and sizes, with no particular age group in mind. Elizabeth Locke draws on a lifelong fascination with the antique jewelry of the Etruscans, Greeks, and Romans as she creates her own neo-classical hand-made 19k gold jewelry.
William Yeoward Crystal will be showcased at the trunk show for August 19-21. In 2008 William Yeoward Crystal received the Royal Warrant of Appointment from HRH The Prince of Wales as supplier of Crystal Glass. Their collection is a combination of original pieces and selected antique pieces from around the world.
The last trunk show of August will feature Monies Jewelry and Planet Clothing, August 26-28. Monies is a Danish jewelry company founded by Gerda and Nikolai Monies, trained goldsmiths with experience from Denmark, Germany, England, Italy, and the US. Planet Clothing is a creative collection of women’s apparel which uses the finest natural fabrics. Designer Lauren Grossman works with Irish handkerchief linen, pima cotton, and washed silk organza to create soft and flowing silhouettes.
