Growing A Vision

The Village Green is Growing a Vision for Cashiers, to raise funds for construction of a multi-use year-round facility in the 13-plus acre privately-conserved public park.
The goal of the campaign is to extend the mission of The Village Green by enhancing the lives of residents and visitors to Cashiers. The facility will host an array of events such as civic forums, musical and theatrical performances, educational programs, and religious services. The Village Green has raised $2.5 million toward the goal of $3.5 million for this community project.
The Village Green has several opportunities for public participation in Growing a Vision for Cashiers. Two public information forums will be held during the month of September.
The first will be at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 5 and another at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 25. Both opportunities will be at The Village Green Commons.
Members of the community will also be able to help with framing the building during a “timber raising” event. A date for this event will be announced later. Other events will include two public informational forums in late summer as well as a tour of construction progress at certain points. The Village Green is also accepting donations toward funding this capital
improvement program.
