Summit One Art Consultants and Highlands Sotheby’s International Realty partner to bring an exclusive art exhibition and sale by Tom Bluemlein from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday, August 7.
Bluemlein finds inspiration for his oil landscapes, waterscapes, and still-lifes virtually everywhere he travels. Yet most of his paintings are created close to home, in the Smoky Mountain region of Eastern Tennessee and the beautiful Ohio Valley woodlands.
Bluemlein’s art career spans 30 years and several states – from his studies in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Woodstock, New York, to the inspiration he seeks from his year living in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In addition to painting, he enjoys helping and encouraging other artists, and does regularly through his workshops and painting demonstrations.
Bluemlein is a member of several professional art organizations, including Past President of the Cincinnati Art Club, The Indiana Plein Air Painters, the Kentucky Watercolor Society and is a Signature Member of the prestigious Oil Painters of America. He was also chosen to be an instructor at the Nation Plein Air Convention in Monterey, California.
The Oil Painters of America have selected his paintings for their national juried shows for three years running. Bluemlein was chosen by Ashley Rooney to write the forward to her book “100 Artists of the Midwest.” He was also selected to be in the National Show in 2008 where he was awarded an Award of Excellence for his painting ‘Flight.’ Bluemlein’s paintings are in the corporate collections of Great American Insurance Company in Cincinnati, Ohio; The Marriott Hotel in Covington, Kentucky; and Saint Luke Hospital.
