The Green Groove

Some events capture the essence of their community, and Groovin’ on The Green is such an event in Cashiers.
Folks young and old have made this the favorite part of their week, or, as a friend recently said “no matter how busy I am, I make sure that I’m on the green at 6:30 P.M. It’s just too much fun to miss.”
The August lineup brings many favorites back to the stage. On August 5 in a show sponsored by Cork and Barrel, Erica Nicole returns with her energetic country sound. Erica loves playing for live audiences, explaining that, “Every single crowd is uniquely their own. They have made every stop special for me in its own way. I always look forward to performing, every show has its own memory to it.”
On August 12, The Buchanan Boys, a five-piece Country Rock band out of the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, returns. They have shared the stage with the likes of The Black Lilies, Justin Moore, Matt Stillwell, and Mountain Faith. They recently finished recording their new album and are currently touring in promotion of the record. This show is sponsored by Signal Ridge.
Rounding out the month, on August 19, Chinquapin sponsors recording artist Julie Gribble, whose folk rock-Americana sound is always a crowd pleaser. Julie loves touring all around the country, meeting people, hearing their stories and sharing their journey.
On August 26, audiences will be treated to the soulful, gospel-tinged sound of Rockell Scott, a Brevard, North Carolina, native.
Ending this season on September 2, local favorite Hurricane Creek will have crowds on their feet with their powerful rock and blues sound with undertones of new country. Crowds love the irresistible, danceable music of this band. This show is sponsored by Landmark Realty.
Concerts start at 6:30 P.M. rain or shine and admission is always free (donations are appreciated). Bring your lawn chairs, kids, dogs, guests, friends, and family and join us for a great time! Don’t forget to pack a picnic and bring a cooler with your favorite beverages; or, if you prefer, food and beverages are available for purchase.
