Tour de Cashiers

The 26th annual Tour de Cashiers Mountain Cycling and Running Event rolls out on Saturday, September 15, at 8:00 A.M. from The Cashiers/Glenville Recreation Center on Frank Allen Road. Riders make the pilgrimage to Cashiers for this annual event, which has earned a reputation as one of the premier events in the Southeast, with its challenging ascents and thrilling descents. Once again this year Highlands-Cashiers Hospital, a Mission Health Hospital, is the proud Premier Event Sponsor.
More than 300 cyclists dedicate their day to the challenge of one of several routes: Quarter-Century (25 miles), Metric (62 miles), or Century (100 miles).
Peak Racing Events, who have transformed the Jekyll Island Ride into a destination event, has partnered to direct this event, and they will be providing operational support throughout. The Tour de Cashiers promises a weekend of enjoyable activities for riders, runners, and their families. Race director Tony Hammett of Peak Racing Events is excited to be helping this event grow into a weekend destination event with exciting plans for this year and years to come: “We continue to plan for this fun and exciting weekend in Cashiers. We are happy to help grow the ride and introduce the 5k run with more ideas on the horizon for the future.”
In addition to the weekend race and rides, everyone should plan on attending the Baldaroo concert scheduled for the evening of September 15, which benefits the Boys and Girls Club of
the Plateau.
Joining Peak Racing Events staff will be community volunteers and regional fire departments, rescue squads, and local law enforcement agencies who work tirelessly to ensure the safety and comfort of the riders.
