The Village Green has appointed Serenity Richards as its new Operations and Development Coordinator.
In this newly created position, Serenity will provide administrative and operational support while also assisting with development initiatives, grant management, donor stewardship, and the pursuit of new funding opportunities that will help advance The Village Green’s mission for years to come.
Serenity brings a wealth of organizational experience, community knowledge, and a deep appreciation for the Cashiers area. Her strong relationships throughout the community and passion for public service make her an excellent addition to The Village Green team.
“We are thrilled to welcome Serenity to The Village Green,” says Dale Gordon, Executive Director. “As our organization continues to grow, it has become increasingly important to strengthen our operational capacity while expanding our development efforts. Serenity’s unique skill set, professionalism, and commitment to our community make her an ideal fit for this role.”
Many community members know Serenity through her years of service at the Albert Carlton–Cashiers Community Library, where she earned a reputation for professionalism, community engagement, and a genuine commitment to serving others. Her dedication to the people of Cashiers and her passion for strengthening community connections have made her a familiar and respected presence throughout the Plateau.
“Serenity’s commitment to our community and her ability to connect with people make her an outstanding addition to The Village Green team,” said Brandy Letson, Chair of The Village Green Board of Directors. “As we look toward the future, we are excited to invest in the people and resources that will help The Village Green continue to thrive. Serenity brings both talent and heart to this role, and we are delighted to welcome her to the organization.”
The creation of the Operations and Development Coordinator position reflects The Village Green’s ongoing commitment to serving the community through exceptional programming, environmental stewardship, and responsible organizational growth. The role will help support the more than 200 days of free community events and programs hosted annually at the park while increasing the organization’s capacity to pursue grants, cultivate donor relationships, and secure additional resources for future projects and initiatives.
“I am honored to join The Village Green team and contribute to an organization that means so much to our community,” says Richards. “The Village Green is truly the heart of Cashiers, and I look forward to helping advance its mission and ensuring it remains a vibrant gathering place for residents and visitors alike.”
