With growing enrollment, particularly in Grades 6-12, Summit Charter School is expanding its campus to better support student life and learning. Thanks to the generosity of our Phase II Expansion campaign donors, construction is underway on a new Middle School Multipurpose Building, scheduled to open in Fall 2026.

Designed to serve Summit’s 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, the building will provide a long-awaited gathering and dining space for the Middle School community. Currently, students often eat lunch outdoors or in classrooms, and the new facility will create a central hub where students can gather comfortably, share meals, collaborate, and connect.

Beyond a dependable daily lunch venue, the multipurpose building will support a wide range of school activities. The space will accommodate large group instruction, school gatherings, special events, and provide overflow practice space for Summit’s volleyball, basketball, and archery teams.

As construction progresses, the excitement across campus continues to build. In January, Summit celebrated a special milestone with a commemorative stud signing, where students from Kindergarten through 8th grade signed the building’s framing before the walls were enclosed. Each student “made their mark” and will forever be a part of the structure that will serve generations of students!

Summit remains very grateful to the tireless efforts of Sweetwater Builders, whose team has been working closely with the school to bring the vision to life. When completed, the building will add an important new dimension to the Summit campus – one that supports not only academics and athletics, but also the everyday moments of connection that shape a strong school community.

When the doors open in Fall 2026, the multipurpose hall will be filled with the sounds of conversation, collaboration, learning, and laughter as Summit’s Middle School students gather together in a space designed just for them.
