From 1946 to 1991, he was so much a part of the fabric of American popular culture that he blends into our collective memory. His movies chart the arc of postwar mainstream American life, a coherent story with fascinating themes. Lancaster did not make small films — he made over 80 movies! Excerpts of his performances from the best of his work, such as Elmer Gantry, From Here to Eternity, Sweet Smell of Success, Seven Days in May, Atlantic City, Judgment at Nuremberg and Field of Dreams will be shown and discussed by a speaker with Hollywood film industry experience who once worked with Burt Lancaster.
