The goal of Mission Health Primary Care is to meet the needs of patients of all ages in Highlands and Cashiers through a comprehensive team approach.
Dr. Thomas Duncan, is a familiar face to patients in Highlands and will now be available in Cashiers on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Dr. Duncan’s office hours in Highlands will be Tuesdays from 7:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. and he will be rotating Mondays and Fridays in Highlands, as well.
What services do the primary care teams cover? Medicare wellness visits, preventative visits, annual visits, and chronic condition management are all handled by primary care professionals.
But care is not limited to routine visits. Acute walk-in services for flu-like symptoms, urinary tract infections, minor cuts and bruises, minor injuries, sore throats, and ear aches are also handled. Women’s health services are available in both Highlands and Cashiers.
All patients (new and established) can utilize Mission Community Primary Care’s walk-in clinic services at Highlands and Cashiers. Lab services are available in both locations for patient convenience and they also provide allergy injection services for established patients. In addition, both locations have the State Vaccination Program for established patients under the age of 19 who qualify.
Mission Community Primary Care Cashiers offers behavioral health services via Telehealth in the clinic. Office hours are from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. They have X-ray services at Mission Community Primary Care Cashiers with a licensed radiologist reading the X-rays remotely from Asheville Radiology and communicating results directly to the providers in Cashiers. Patients no longer have to travel to the hospital for radiology testing.
