Dr. Peterson Joins H-C Hospital Team

The team of providers at Highlands-Cashiers Hospital has just added a familiar face, Carole Peterson, MD.
For many years Dr. Peterson has been an Ob/Gyn provider in Franklin at Angel Medical Center and will now be joining the medical staff in Highlands.
Dr. Peterson will continue to practice in Franklin, but will share her time with women needing full gynecological services in Highlands. She is looking forward to providing comprehensive healthcare for the women in Highlands and Cashiers.
Of particular importance to Dr. Peterson is the team approach to healthcare. She encourages patients to see their primary care provider with whom she will work closely to provide a holistic history of each individual woman.
May is the month when we celebrate mothers, and there is no more ideal time to remind women it is vitally important to focus on self-care. Oftentimes, women tend to take care of others’ needs first, but remember airline warnings: put the oxygen mask on yourself before helping others. There is a clear reason for this advisory; if you’re unable to take care of yourself, you won’t be able to be there for your loved ones when they really need you.
There are many services Highlands-Cashiers Hospital provides to assure women they are being cared for. The physicians and staff are dedicated to providing compassionate, effective care for women throughout our region who are experiencing gynecologic problems.

Dr. Peterson has served women in western North Carolina for many years and offers complete care for women suffering from breast problems, abnormal Pap smears, menopause, and issues related to bladder and bowel control and prolapse of the vagina.
