As Americans, we seem to have an obsession with fat, weight and weight loss, especially around our midsections. Many health issues stem from the inflammatory cells associated with belly fat.
The battle with weight and undesired fat seems to get worse instead of easier. Aging is usually blamed for the abdominal fat so often associated with heart disease and diabetes. But weight gain and fat are not simply factors of aging. Culturally, we are not paying attention to the formula for losing the dangerous, stubborn fat cells that are ultimately responsible for so much of what pains us in our health stories. Even younger Americans are suffering at an alarming rate with ailments previously reserved for older bodies.
Fat cells are designed to protect the body from harmful toxins. These toxins can come from our environment, including beauty products, detergents, air pollution, pesticides, and fertilizers; we can ingest dietary toxins with poor food choices; we can work out like fiends, which produces toxins within the body; and then we deal with the ordinary production and supply of daily toxins. You can see that we really need fat cells to protect us from all this harm!
There is a big difference between the amount of fat our bodies need to protect our organs and our bodies from all these toxins and other harmful things and the amount of fat that many of us carry around, causing major health issues as well as often making us self-conscious and unhappy.
Losing weight to reach an ideal weight and fat level takes a few important steps. We must understand the relationship between clean foods and toxin removal. Increasing your intake of antioxidants will help to rid the body of toxins, making it easier to release unwanted fat cells. Second, we must understand that by reducing the “quick” energy of simple carbohydrates, we can then dig into the reserves of the fat cells to furnish energy for our bodies to function, again shedding fat cells. Third, we must make sure that we exercise or move daily for a total of at least 30 minutes or 6,000-8,000 steps. This will ensure that our body stays more toned and efficient, taking the burden off the heart and lungs.
Put all of these components together and you might be pleasantly surprised by losing some inflammation along with its corresponding weight and usually inches! Choose your nutrition on purpose so you can be well, eat well, and stay well at a healthy weight! #eatwellbewell #nutritiononpurpose
