Yoga, Wellness, Adventure Retreat 2020

Ocean breezes are beckoning us once again for our Fourth annual Winter Yoga, Wellness and Adventure Retreat. Jamaica 2020 will launch on February 6 -11 and will be our first retreat exploring island life!
Artistry. Sustainability. Authenticity. Our site for this year’s retreat is Treasure Beach in St. Elizabeth Parrish on the Southern Coast of Jamaica. Treasure Beach is an arid region known for it’s laid back, serene atmosphere and sparsely populated beaches. The pride of the area is their work ethic and their authentically Jamaican people.
We have chosen Jake’s Hotel, a hip design-driven boutique hotel with an artistic feel. The owners of Jake’s are deeply committed to being an example of sustainable development- something we are aligned with as yoga practitioners. The hotel has been built gently on the land over time, which lends itself to light impact and harmony within the landscape.
St. Elizabeth is considered the breadbasket of Jamaica. It’s where 80 percent of Jamaica’s domestic produce is grown and we will enjoy the freshest fruit and vegetables—and the best grains—Jamaica has to offer.
Embracing Jamaica’s long tradition of nurturing, this retreat will turn our attention to physical healing. The Driftwood Spa on-site offers an expansive menu of services, with garden-grown ingredients prepared on property – think coffee, coconut, mango, seaweed and aloe – to make their own products. Enjoy an herbal steam and then a massage in open-aired rooms looking out upon blue Caribbean water.
Daily morning yoga sessions meet on a platform gazing out over the ocean. This year we’ve created a few new workshops devoted to rejuvenation, self-discovery, and the heart of yoga.
Adventure-ready? Visualize mountain biking through the morning country-side, swimming in the pools of the YS waterfall, and journeying by boat to a freshly-prepared lunch of lobster, crab and fish served beachside.
One mission of yoga is to make the most of each present moment. When we step out of our lives and travel, it magnifies our appreciation of the life that awaits us returning home. New perspective is refreshing and needed, just as is laughter, relaxation, and balance! Locally-grown, community driven, and intrinsically good – you are invited to be a part of the warmth of Jamaica.
