The body is always working on being its best, every minute of every day, despite the obstacles we throw in its way.
The liver and the natural production of antioxidants fight hard at keeping the body free of debris and as clean as possible. Each organ has a special function and each cell a special duty. When the body is burdened by too many “bad” or unhealthy cells, there may be more damage to clean up.
When we focus on prevention of disease, damage, and aging, we may not feel it directly as we aid the body in cleaning and defense. What is happening in the body, however, is long lasting and very significant, even if we can’t feel it directly. Think of how it would feel to have less pain, looser joints, better digestion and elimination, improved brain function, clarity and memory. This can be a great daily accomplishment for anyone in tune with their health.
Prevention is basically being aware of what is damaging to one’s health and taking steps to prepare the body for the worst scenario – eating healthy, increasing the intake of important phytonutrients and antioxidants, and drinking plenty of water on a daily basis. The joint pain, organ damage, poor circulation, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, mental fogginess, and overall fatigue can slowly but surely be eliminated with time and good habits. Remember that anything that you do consistently for 30 days usually becomes a habit. If you make one simple change every 30 days toward a healthier you, you are actively working on prevention. The best way to do this is to pick a good habit and focus on that for a month. For instance, drink more water, exercise for 30 minutes per day, or increase your consumption of fruits and vegetables.
Whatever you choose, if it is a good habit, continue until it becomes part of your daily routine and you have moved into prevention. You will know it and eventually you will feel it!
