2024 Community Star Party at Sunset Rock

Join Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust for the 2024 solar eclipse on April 8th up on Sunset Rock! This year the Plateau will be experiencing 84% eclipse totality. We will be celebrating with a self-paced hike, crafts, educational talks, and light refreshments.

Members of our HCLT team will give various talks ranging from the cultural history of Ravenel Park, the geology of Sunset Rock, and different cultural legends about eclipses. We will have a limited number of solar glasses, but feel free to bring your own! This is a free event, open to children, adults, and families.

When: April 8th, anytime between 1:00-4:30 pm with talks at 1:30pm, 2:15pm, and 3:00pm
Where: Sunset Rock, parking is located across from the Biological Station
