Cashiers Plein Air Festival 2026 at The Village Green

Derived from the French phrase en plein air, meaning “in the open air,” plein air painting is the practice of creating artwork outdoors, allowing artists to capture the fleeting light, atmosphere, and spirit of a place in real time.
The Cashiers Plein Air Festival returns to The Village Green July 13-18, bringing together 20 nationally and internationally recognized artists to paint the beauty of the Cashiers landscape outdoors. The week includes free artist demonstrations, an Artists’ Quick Paint on The Green, an awards ceremony and opportunities to view and purchase newly completed works.
The festival gallery at Lewis Hall, 160 Frank Allen Road, will be free and open to the public July 16-18 from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Proceeds benefit The Village Green and its free community programming.
