Over the decades, The Church of the Good Shepherd’s annual Bazaar has earned a regional reputation. It’s only natural that it’s mushroomed into the year-round Bazaar Barn, 118 US Hwy 64 West (at Shoppes on the Green).
Destined to be an heirloom, Match pewter is handmade in northern Italy, in a small workshop, by artisans who have honed their craft using methods gleaned over generations.
Known as the “Cheers” of Bookstores, the Bookworm in Highlands is affiliated with the Hudson Library: all books are donated; all staff are volunteers; and all funds go to help support the library. More than a retail store, we are a community service offering carefully sorted donated books to provide the best quality at a used bookstore price.

Byrds and Crows, who live in Transylvania County enjoy playing songs that are deeply rooted in the Appalachian Mountains that consist of bluegrass, bluegrass gospel, folk, and early country music. The band members are: Kenny Byrd-Guitar/Harmonica/Vocals, Sheila Byrd-Mandolin/Vocals, Will Byrd-Banjo/Guitar, Andy Cole-Fiddle/Harmonica/Vocals, and Joe Alexander- Bass.
The Highlands Cashiers Players announce their production of Sylvia, a wonderful comedy by A R Gurney. In a role originally written for Sarah Jessica Parker, Sylvia is a very special dog who adopts and humanizes a very fortunate couple, as well as their various houseguests.
Highlands Saturday Marketplace at the Kelsey Hutchison Founders Park begins on April 1 and is held each Saturday from 8:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M.
