The Highlands Cashiers Players announce their production of Sylvia, a wonderful comedy by A R Gurney. In a role originally written for Sarah Jessica Parker, Sylvia is a very special dog who adopts and humanizes a very fortunate couple, as well as their various houseguests. Enjoy a warming flow of postures to strengthen and tone the breath, body and mind. This class will include postures that will challenge you physically, create awareness, release tension, and open shoulders, hips and spine for more flexible movement and overall well-being. Modifications are offered for a safe and fun practice. This class is suitable for LEVELS 1, 2 and 3 of yoga practitioners. We recommend students new to yoga begin with our Beginner and Level 1 classes first to establish comfort and familiarity of the basics of yoga before moving into any mixed level class. Class is limited to 15 people and online registration is required. Over the decades, The Church of the Good Shepherd’s annual Bazaar has earned a regional reputation. It’s only natural that it’s mushroomed into the year-round Bazaar Barn, 118 US Hwy 64 West (at Shoppes on the Green). Known as the “Cheers” of Bookstores, the Bookworm in Highlands is affiliated with the Hudson Library: all books are donated; all staff are volunteers; and all funds go to help support the library. More than a retail store, we are a community service offering carefully sorted donated books to provide the best quality at a used bookstore price. Friday Night Live Concert Series: The Johnny Webb Band, one of Western North Carolina’s premier country bands, offers laid-back yet seasoned and professional performances giving their audiences a truly exceptional musical experience with a down-home flavor and a line-up of country music songs-both old and new-that is hard to beat. Their versatility and song selections span over 50 years of music, and they are constantly updating their repertoire of songs. |

Highlands Saturday Marketplace at the Kelsey Hutchison Founders Park begins on April 1 and is held each Saturday from 8:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. There’s something uniquely wonderful about starting your weekend strolling through this colorful marketplace as the dew still glistens on the grass. The Bascom welcomes our new Atrium Series, which highlights artists who were selected by visiting curator, Kimberly English.
