All the basics you will need to know to get started working on the potter’s wheel. We will make bowls (ex. berry bowls, soup bowls, colander, cereal bowls, etc) and cylinders (ex. Mugs, tumblers, sippers – based on the learning curve) and learn how to trim. Glazing will be covered in the last class.

Vin/Yin Yoga at Cashiers Valley Fusion
A gentle blend of Vinyasa Flow and Yin Yoga, this class explores the energies of yang and yin to create more balance and harmony for the mind and body.
Each student is encouraged to move slowly with awareness. The Vinyasa portion of the practice links slow to moderate movement to the breath and is designed to warm the body in preparation for the Yin portion which includes holding poses for 2-5 minutes. The Yin poses allow the connective tissues, muscles and more to stretch slowly to create more space internally.

This six-week online class will help you take your landscape photography to a whole new level. Inspiration will be sparked through photographic exercises, time photographing in the field, and supportive critiques.
Photographers of all levels are welcome and even seasoned practitioners should find value in this unique approach to the medium. Participants will be offered the opportunity to have their photographs juried into the Listening to the Land: Reimagining the Bartram Trail community exhibition in Fall 2023.

Restorative Yoga with Sound Bath at Cashiers Valley Fushion
A slow-paced practice, this class is formed by a gentle sequence of long-held poses focusing on stretching and releasing the connective tissues of the body. It is meant to improve flexibility while bringing students to a deep level of calm.
The practice closes with a sound meditation guided by Crystal and Tibetan Singing Bowls, drawing you into a deeper state of rest and relaxation.
This class is suitable for All Levels of yoga practitioners.

Enjoy a warming flow of postures to strengthen and tone the breath, body and mind. This class will include postures that will challenge you physically, create awareness, release tension, and open shoulders, hips and spine for more flexible movement and overall well-being.
Modifications are offered for a safe and fun practice.
This class is suitable for LEVELS 1, 2 and 3 of yoga practitioners. We recommend students new to yoga begin with our Beginner and Level 1 classes first to establish comfort and familiarity of the basics of yoga before moving into any mixed level class.
Class is limited to 15 people and online registration is required.

Birders of all skill levels can meet at our North Campus (111 Lower Lake Road) Binoculars will be provided.

Great Backyard Bird Count at Cashiers Historical Society
Annually, birds from all over the country travel to North Carolina during their migration.
On Friday, February 17 and Monday, February 20 participate in a count of our bird population. Come to Cashiers Historical Society either day from 11 – 2 and watch and listen for 15 minutes, count all the birds you see or hear.
After, join all for a cup of hot chocolate at the Dowden Pavilion or Col. John’s Cabin. Information will be downloaded to Cornell University.

Accessible for all levels of practitioners this moderately paced Hatha Flow practice of flowing movement linked with breath offers challenges and intensity with modifications and variations in order to meet each practitioner at his or her skill level.
