Potholes Falls

Directions: From US 64 in Highlands, head down Horse Cove Road into Horse Cove for 4.55 Miles, to the spot where the road forks into Whiteside Cove Road and Bull Pen Road. Turn right onto Bull Pen and travel to Iron Bridge over the Chattooga River. There are plenty of parking spots around the bridge. Waterfall GPS: N35.01613 W-83.12655
About: Just park, walk out onto Iron Bridge and look down. This little (10 foot) waterfall is like no other cascade you’ve ever seen. A gentle series of, well, potholes. If Salvador Dali had ever designed a forest-cloaked mountain tumult, it’d almost certainly come out looking like this.
Difficulty: This is easy – 20 yards to the streamside.
