The Swingin’ Medallions

The Literacy & Learning Center is bringing the rhythm back to Highlands, so get ready to practice your Carolina Shag–the Swingin’ Medallions are coming back to town.

This year’s event marks a “triple shot of my baby’s love,” as the legendary group returns for its third performance at TL&LC’s spring fundraiser, promising an evening of toe‑tapping tunes and community spirit on Sunday, July 12, at The Farm at Old Edwards.

For more than 60 years, the Swingin’ Medallions have captivated audiences with their horn‑driven American beach music, a sound that has carried them across generations since their founding in 1962. Their iconic hit “Double Shot of My Baby’s Love” has sold more than 1.5 million copies since its 1966 release, and follow‑up favorites like “She Drives Me Out of My Mind” and “Hey, Hey Baby” helped cement their place in music history through labels such as Capitol and Smash Records.

Their performances remain as spirited as ever, blending nostalgia with the irresistible energy that keeps fans on their feet.

This year’s celebration supports TL&LC’s mission to provide free educational programs for learners of all ages, a mission sustained by the generosity of the Highlands‑Cashiers community. Guests will gather from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at The Farm at Old Edwards, with general admission tickets priced at $175 and a VIP experience available for $500, offering early entry at 5:30 P.M. and a private meet‑and‑greet with the band. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for those wishing to make a deeper impact. By attending, guests directly support the Center’s work of enriching lives and expanding knowledge for childhood, adulthood, and livelihood.

The evening promises world‑class entertainment, a lively dance floor, and the unmistakable joy of gathering for a good cause. Highlands will be swinging once again on July 12, and the community is invited to join the celebration.
