Brown Thrasher

Written By: Highlands Plateau Audubon Society | Issue: 2017/07 - July | Photograph By: Ed Boos, Photographer
This large songbird is similar to the Wood Thrush with a longer tail and lower streaks instead of spots. It is usually seen in the underbrush foraging on the ground by tossing leaves and debris to expose insects. The Brown Thrasher song is musical: repeated phrases and pauses in a clear rhythm.
