It’s been said that toys are training wheels for the imagination. They are the architecture of our childhood dreams. If you have gadgets and fidgets scattered about office and home, it’s evidence the world still loves and needs toys.
If you agree with these notions, and are aged somewhere between kiddo and grandfolk, you need a visit to The Corner Store at the Village Walk in Cashiers.

Meet the owner, Natalia Belyshev. She’ll introduce you to the latest toys, games, puzzles, cars, dolls, gadgets and more. Adults, check out their collection of Cashiers T‑shirts and sweaters.
While a lot of families come in for shirts and toys, it’s really the grandparents who are the prevailing buyers. Grandkids visit during the summer season. Nearby grandparents find The Corner Store a popular destination. She says she knows about 70 percent of her customers. That explains the store’s popularity.

There’s something for everyone. Need a baby shower gift? A birthday card or present? Kid art supplies? (“Ooh, yes, please,”). Search for oodles of fidgets, author-signed children’s books, and toys, toys, and more toys. It’s a unique boutique for kids and the grandparents who adore them.
The Corner Store operates Monday through Saturday, 10:00‑ish A.M. to 5:00 P.M. in the summer. The store is open during winter, but please call (828) 743‑6267 in advance to be certain that weather isn’t affecting business hours. The store address is 44 Village Walk Way, located behind Wells Fargo in Cashiers.
So bring the whole family. There’s something for everyone.
