The 2nd Annual Brookings Bash comes back to Brookings Anglers at 88 Cashiers Lake Road on Sunday, September 6, with gates opening at 11:30 A.M. for a full day of live music, food trucks, local vendors, craft brews, and wine set against one of the most beautiful mountain backdrops around.
What makes Brookings Bash especially meaningful, though, is that the good feeling does not end when the music does. It carries well beyond the stage and into the lives of families throughout our mountain communities through its support of Transylvania Habitat for Humanity.
Brookings Bash grew from a straightforward mountain idea: bring friends together, add music, and let the day serve a larger purpose. Chris and Jenn Douglass, Billy Catlin, and Patrick Hurley convinced Brookings owner Matt Canter that an easygoing Saturday gathering could grow into a front-yard concert with a real mission. They selected Habitat as the beneficiary after Hurricane Helene made clear just how urgently local families needed help. In its first year, Brookings Bash sold 800 tickets, sold out its VIP offering, and raised $200,000 for the cause.
This year’s lineup, featuring Upstream Rebellion, Jammy Buffet, and Clay Street Unit, will give the day the feel of a mountain gathering rather than a formal event, with plenty of space for all ages to settle in and enjoy it. Happ’s Place, Grand Ole Station, and Fork Grove Barbecue will keep guests well fed, while local vendors bring their own character to the celebration.
At the center of the event is Transylvania Habitat for Humanity. Brookings Bash is more than a beautiful Sunday in Cashiers; it is a celebration with purpose, one that helps build safe, affordable homes for local families. In a region where rising costs make it increasingly difficult for working families to remain, Habitat’s work offers stability, dignity, and the opportunity to put down roots.
On concert day, food trucks Happs, Grand Ole Station, and Fork Grove Barbecue will be on site, along with a handful of local vendors offering their specialty items.
Every ticket bought, every sponsorship made, and every happy hour spent at Brookings Bash helps carry that mission forward. It is a reminder that community is built in more than one way: sometimes with hammers and hard hats, and sometimes with generosity, music, and a shared afternoon beneath the open sky.
