Hooray! It’s May!
For the past four years Highlands Rotary Bingo has supported the Counseling Center of Highlands’ celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month.
Each May, during Mental Health Awareness Month, the Counseling Center of Highlands offers Bee Kind Bingo through Highlands Rotary. The funds raised through Bee Kind Bingo go directly to provide scholarship assistance for members in our community who would like counseling services but otherwise may not be able to get mental health support.
Bee Kind Bingo is May’s annual Rotary Bingo game night. This event is growing proportionately every year. BEE Kind for Mental Health is based on the premise that “Mental Health Begins with Kindness.” The concept encourages community acts of kindness in an effort to reduce the area’s stress and anxiety.
The Counseling Center at Peggy Crosby Center strives to strengthen families and individuals by providing access to quality mental health services regardless of financial means.
The center has two exceptional counselors, each with unique skills. Alberto Cappelletti, who joined the team in May of 2025, focuses on supporting clients in a safe environment. He has extensive experience in addictions and life transitions.
Tracy Franklin specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She’s a terrific listener, a therapist who applies several different therapeutic approaches to help clients change the negative to the positive. She is also trained in EMDR
(Movement Desensitization Reprocessing). Tracy is not only one of the Center’s therapists, she’s the Bee King Bingo caller and a barrel of fun.
Don’t miss the bingo fun! Tracy will arrive as Queen Bee (replete with tiara) along with her worker bee, the Doggy Drone Rocky. Plus, she has a surprise for all, so bee at your best!
