While there are so many charitable organizations in our region, there are two exceptional clubs that shine this summer: the Scaly Mountain Women’s Club and the Highlands Rotary Club. When those two team together, a whole lotta WOW is sure to happen.

On the inevitably lucky August 13, join this benevolent duo for an evening of family fun, food, and a stack of 15 bingo cards, only 1 dollar each, for a whole lot of winning in 15 rounds. If you’ve attended “B4,” you know the drill.

Bee (Barbara) Wilson is the chair of this year’s event.

She says, “Every year bingo promises to be even better than ever and 2026 is no exception.”

Doors open at 6:00 P.M. at the Highlands Community Building. That’s when good food at a good price is served for adults and kids. Bingo games start at 6:30 P.M., ending at 8:30 P.M.

“Fifty percent of the evening earnings at the door funds the jackpots,” says Bee. “The remaining 50 percent goes to our charity. The proceeds support our great cause. We are funding 16 scholars in our area.”

Through the end of this fall, a total of $38,000 in proceeds will have been distributed to support up to eight semesters of each student’s choice: a tech school, a four‑year university, or a community college.

In addition to bingo winnings, there will be gift basket raffles, which will likely include a spa night. Silent auctions offer gift cards and tickets to cultural events. Beautiful live flower planters await your patio or dining table. And there’s plenty more.

In closing, Bee says, “God bless the Highlands Rotary. The Rotary keeps nothing for themselves. They are a blessing!”

P.S., a message from the recipients of winnings and scholarships: God bless Bee and Scaly Mountain Women’s Club!
