Music fills the air at The Village Green year-round, but when summer arrives, it truly comes alive with Groovin’ on The Green –a vibrant, free concert series that’s become a seasonal favorite.

This beloved community tradition invites locals and visitors alike to gather on the Village Green Commons Lawn for easygoing evenings of music, friendship, and fun. Rain or shine, the concerts begin promptly at 6:00 P.M. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket, pack a picnic, and feel free to bring leashed four-legged friends for a night of shared good times.

The 2026 lineup gets started this month with two standout acts.

On May 22, the Corey Stevenson Band takes the stage. Known for a soulful blend of blues and rock, Corey Stevenson and his band have earned a reputation for heartfelt lyrics and high-energy performances. Corey has been nominated for Songwriter of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Song of the Year at the Josie Music Awards, and he’s also landed 10 of the most requested songs on 96.5 WXCC – ranking alongside artists like Chris Stapleton and Luke Combs. Over the years, he has opened for acts including Zach Myers, Bucky Covington, Big Smo, and The Kentucky Headhunters. The Laurel is excited to help get the music started as sponsors of the opening Groovin’ concert!

The season continues on May 29 with Dylan Armour. Fresh from the tall pines of north Georgia, the 24-year-old singer-songwriter brings a modern spark to Southern rock. Dylan began his musical journey in a family of musicians – his dad, an accomplished luthier, built him his first guitar when he was seven. By 16, he was touring internationally with various bluegrass bands, and within two years he proudly became a SPBGMA (Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America.) nominee. The fast, smooth technique he honed through bluegrass breakdowns became his ace in the hole as he moved into rock and electric guitar. With a strong stage presence and a carefully crafted blend of blues and rock, Dylan’s sound is a reminder that Southern rock hasn’t lost its iconic relevance.

Beyond the music, each concert offers a variety of local food and beverage options—so you can snack, sip, and settle in for the show. Want to make it an extra-comfortable evening? The Village Green also offers tent rentals, giving groups the option to reserve a shaded spot to enjoy the performance.

Groovin’ on The Green is more than a concert series – it’s a celebration of community, local culture, and the simple joy of live music under the open sky. Mark your calendar, pack your picnic, and come enjoy a summer evening on the Green.
