Guess what, boys and girls? Santa Claus is coming to town. And not just for a quick flyover – he and Mrs. Claus love Highlands so much that they’ve decided to spend lots of time here this December.
That means plenty of chances to whisper your Christmas wishes, snap a picture, and maybe even share a giggle with the jolly couple themselves.
You can visit Santa right after the Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 6, until 3:00 P.M., and again on December 13 and December 20 from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. at the Kelsey-Hutchinson Founders Park, which has been magically transformed into a winter wonderland. Bundle up, bring your wish list, and don’t forget your biggest Christmas smile.
Now, between us, Santa can spend so much time in Highlands because he’s working from home while he is here. It’s true. He’s left the workshop in the capable hands of his busy elves and come to Highlands for a “working vacation.”
Every morning, he starts the day with a big mug of hot cocoa (and maybe a Christmas cookie or two) while checking his famous Naughty and Nice List. You’ve heard he checks it twice, but that’s old news. Santa checks it every single day, just to make sure no one gets missed.
If you’re out and about downtown, keep your eyes peeled – you might spot Santa himself taking a stroll, chatting with folks, and soaking in the holiday cheer. He says the children in Highlands are some of the kindest and most delightful he’s ever met. Hardly anyone ends up on his naughty list around here.
So come by for a cozy visit with Santa in beautiful Kelsey-Hutchinson Park, where laughter rings in the chilly air and Christmas magic seems to swirl all around. Could there be a better way to spend a December Saturday?
If you can’t make it on a Saturday when Santa is here, you can always bring your letter to Santa and drop it in the special mailbox he leaves near his sleigh there. Santa checks the mailbox often, so it’s the quickest way to get your letter to him.
On a final note, let’s all remember that it is vitally important that Santa stay healthy this holiday season, so he’ll make his appearances as weather allows.
