Run, run, as fast as you can!
Cashiers’ 51st Annual Cashiers Peppermint Stick Christmas Parade is just around the corner.
This beloved holiday tradition will be held on Saturday, December 6, beginning at 3:00 P.M. Be sure to arrive early to find parking and claim the perfect viewing spot.
This year’s route is extended, starting at Frank Allen Road on U.S. Highway 64, marching to the Crossroads, then turning right at the light to conclude at Cashiers School Road, giving everyone along the way a little extra holiday cheer.
The whimsical 2025 theme, “Gingerbread Man’s Mountain March,” sets the tone for a sweet celebration of community. Leading the parade as Grand Marshal is Cashiers-Glenville Volunteer Fire Department Chief Randy Dillard, an especially fitting honor for someone who has kept watch over this event year after year.
This time, Chief Dillard gets to enjoy the view from atop his perch, taking in the festivities from a whole new perspective.
The parade is the perfect showcase of small-town spirit, creativity, and togetherness. Expect to see a delightful mix of animals, vintage cars, colorful costumes, imaginative floats, and plenty of surprises. Each entry represents hours of hard work and big hearts, all contributing to the magic that makes Cashiers shine at Christmas.
Of course, no parade would be complete without the lively sounds of the award-winning Rosman Tiger Band from Rosman High School. Their precision marching and festive tunes fill the air with Christmas joy, reminding everyone that there’s nothing quite like a marching band to bring a parade to life.
Small-town Christmas parades like this one are more than just a fun afternoon-they’re a cherished tradition that keeps community connections strong. They remind us of the joy of gathering together, waving to familiar faces, and celebrating the season side by side. In a world that moves faster every year, this parade grounds us in what really matters: friendship, community pride, and the shared spirit of Christmas.
The Cashiers Area Chamber of Commerce extends heartfelt thanks to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the Glenville-Cashiers Rescue Squad, Kathryn Davis, and Nat Turner for their dedication, time, and energy in keeping everyone safe during this festive day.
