Executive Director Dale Gordon
The Village Green is pleased to announce the appointment of Dale Gordon as its new Executive Director, beginning Nov 3rd. Dale brings extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, community development, media, events and public service – and was named one of Tampa Magazine’s Top 10 Leading People in 2016. Since 2018 she and her husband have lived and worked on the plateau and raised their 2 sons here.
Dale Gordon succeeds Ashlie Mitchell, who led the organization from 2021-October of 2025. Under Mitchell’s guidance, The Village Green expanded community programming, cultivated new partnerships, and enhanced the park’s playground.
“It’s an incredible honor to join The Village Green and help steward this treasured community space,” Dale said. “I hope to further strengthen strategic partnerships with like-minded organizations, and ensure that we fully live our mission of preserving and enhancing the land for our community’s civic, spiritual, academic, recreational, and cultural well-being”
Dale will oversee a new campus-wide grounds improvement project launching later this year. The initiative includes trail & wetland restoration, enhanced native landscaping & gardens, a new public bathroom, improved accessibility, and upgrades to community gathering areas.
Board Chair Kinsey Harper shared her enthusiasm for the transition when she said “We’re deeply grateful for Ashlie’s leadership and thrilled to welcome Dale, whose energy, experience and vision will carry The Village Green forward. It’s an exciting time for us!”.
