With four crooners beamed down from the afterlife, landing somewhere between a sock hop and Sunset Rock – Mountain Theatre Company’s Forever Plaid (staged at Highlands Performing Arts Center through July 13) is a sweet, starlit reunion with the sounds of yesteryear.

A 7th Anniversary Ribbon Cutting was held on Tuesday, June 17, in celebration of Allison Diane Clothing, a stylish and welcoming boutique known for its fashionable women’s clothing and accessories.

This year’s theme is “Campfires & the Embers of Youth: The History of Summer Camps in Western North Carolina.” This engaging program explores how summer camps have shaped the social, economic, and cultural history of western North Carolina.
