Leadership Highlands Announces 2026 Class

The Highlands Chamber of Commerce/Visit Highlands, NC is pleased to announce the selection of the 2026 Leadership Highlands class. Fourteen individuals were selected from a very strong applicant pool to participate in this highly regarded community leadership development program.

Leadership Highlands is designed for emerging and established leaders who are committed to deepening their understanding of the Highlands community while strengthening their leadership skills and civic engagement. The seven-month program runs from February through October and includes a retreat, monthly full-day sessions, enrichment workshops, collaborative projects, and a graduation ceremony.

Throughout the program, participants will engage with local leaders and subject matter experts on topics such as Highlands history and cultural resources, economic development, local government and public safety, health and human services, education, arts, and outdoor recreation. The curriculum also emphasizes personal leadership development through principle-based decision-making and team-building experiences.
